FOOD SAFETY WHEN COOKING

1. Why is it important to cook food thouroughly?
Because it should be cooked thoroughly to kill most food poisoning bacteria.

2. What’s the minimum temperature used to cook food?
The minimum temperature is 60oC

3. What should you do to prepare food?
When you want to prepare food you must take care when preparing, cooking,serving and storing food because some people are more at risk from food poisoning.

4. Name 3 high risk foods

  • Meat
  • Poultry such as chicken and turkey
  • Eggs

    5. Why do we have to take care of when we prepare foods with raw eggs
    When we cooking foods with raw eggs we must be take extra care when preparing foods that use raw egg, such as eggnog and homemade mayonnaise. Bacteria on the eggshells can contaminate food and cause food poisoning.

    6. What’s happen if the microwave is not adjusted correctly?
    If microwave not use correctly, it can cook food unevenly.

    7. What should we remember when preparing food?
    When you prepare food you must remember:
    · Cook food properly
    · If you use a microwave, check that the food is cooked evenly throughout
    · Cool and store cooked food as soon as possible
    · Reheat food to steaming hot.
